Class Board Meets with Engineering Instructor, Discuss Innovatory Program
Class of 1960 Board Members meet with Wellesley’s first professor of engineering, Amy Banzaert, at this past weekend’s Alumnae Leadership Council, held at the College. From left to right, 1st row: Margie Arons-Baron, Amy Banzaert, Marie Canny; back row: Judy Lasca, Syvia Decker, Margot Tutun, Missy Moore.
The 1960 Class Legacy Fund helps finance the student engineering winter session to Nicaragua and Cape Verde, where Wellesley women are immersed in small technology projects suitable to developing countries, work on problems as large as failing dams, and polish the language and culture skills needed for work in a global environment.
Another goal of the 1960 Class Legacy Fund is to support the acquisition of state-of-the-art materials, like 3-D printers, for developing prototypes. Our fund is already helping “women who will” combine liberal arts and technology for the 21st century.
